Who doesn't love little kids in TS4? Honestly, compared to previous (unmodified) versions of The Sims games, these might be the cutest iterations in this age bracket!
That's why they deserve more love and more mods.
I have divided these mods and essentials packs for kids into three categories:
game modesare mods that affect, modify, or add to gameplay.Functional ObjectsThey are basically mods, CC and accessory packs that contain items that can be used in-game for their intended purpose (e.g. comfort, interaction, lighting, etc.).
Non-functional/CAS objectsItems are basically clothing and decorations. In fact, they do not affect your gameplay and cannot be interacted with. Or add a touch of realism to your game.Öthey are good to see.

Game modes for small children
1.More Autonomous Social Interactions for Toddlers by Brandi_Mane93
Have you ever left a young child to babble or talk to Blarffy to improve their communication skills? players who play alongAutonomy disabledYou probably haven't realized this, but self-contained and talkative kids tend to be...repetitive.
Mod creator Brandi_Mane93 obviously noticed. Hence the birth of this mod.
And let me tell you: it istutmake a clear difference.
Basically, this mode allows young children to use 11 social interactions autonomously (which previously were only possible if specifically chosen). With this mod you can now talk about trucks, princesses,toys, parties or your favorite color without you asking. So you can say goodbye to that monotonous, repetitive chatter.
2.Ultrasound by littlemssam
Simmers who prefer a very family-oriented playstyle (as opposed to the "Forever Young Adults Living Their Best Lives" style) will likely do soamarthis modality
I prefer the latter to the former, but even I found this mod to be cute and creative.
The Littlemssam mod unlocks a Gynecologist for your pregnant Sims to visit in Season 2Dakota do Norteo 3third partyquarter for oneultrasound examination. As with a real ultrasound, this visit will tell you the number of babies expected and their sex.
It is aVisit the rabbit hole, so your pregnant sim will be gone for about 60-90 minutes in game.
When they return you will find aUltrasonicin your inventory. Hover over it to get the details of the soon to be born Sim.
It gets even cuter. Like all happy parents (or parents-to-be), your Sim can frame the scans (mod included; 9 color patches) and hang them on the wall. You can also copy the scan and send it to friends and family as a gift.
Looking at the framed scan gives your Sim a happiness buff. Last bonus!
3.Stacie's Education System Pack (Preschool Mod)
Easily one of the most impressive mods on this list, Stacie'seducation system packagemod is not something to be taken lightly.
There are other mods included in this ultimate pack, but what we want for our kids is thesepreschool mod.
Yes, your little ones can now join their big brothers and sisters to sunbathe, have fun, and learn (and socialize a little, I think).
Young children are sent to a Rabbit Hole location where they can develop skills and character stats based on the interactions you choose for them. This is a great mod if you want them to learn and build skills but you literally don't have time to do it yourself.
Some of these interactions include:
- Ask for help- increasesBlase,heads up, SheFome. Interrupts skill gain and stat gain
- play with toys- Increasesfun,Manners,performance, Shemovement. Interrupts skill gain and stat gain
- listen to the teacher- Increases skill gain and character stat FAST. The fun ends FAST

4.Small children have fewer candyd nightmares
A sad boy walks into my Sim's room at 3am. m. and wakes up my sim crying because he had a nightmare... it can be really annoying.
10% because the little kids in TS4 honestly look terribly miserable when they're sad, and 90% because my sim has 6 hours to go and his energy bar is still ominously red dammit.
Nevertheless.
This mod is the ultimate answer toboth disadvantages. As the name suggests, it drastically reduces the chances of your kids waking up with nightmares.
Because sometimes night lights are not enough.
So the basic formula is apparently a 50/50 chance of nightmares for TS4 kids.
This is divided by 5 for small children with the "independent" trait. And when your child reaches level 3 thinking skills, they will have 10 times fewer nightmares than before.
This mod introduces three new slightly cheaper formulas:
- 20% Chance of Nightmares (Splits and Discounts Still Apply)
- 10% chance of having nightmares (again still affected by cub's thinking ability and traits)
- 0% chance of nightmares (when they literally can't bother you anymore)
Just choose the formula that best suits your playstyle and download this variant. I don't recommend installing all three files as they are quite redundant and may conflict with each other.
5.No Puddles Under Baby Bathtubs by littlemssam
One of the most annoying bugs in TS4 (at least for me) has to be the unreachable mess bug. For example, if your child makes a mess and 98% of the paint splatters somehow end up under the bed, totally impossible to click and therefore impossible to clean?
For children, it's those annoying bathing puddles that end up somehowunderthe bathtub.
And you know they're there because your crazy neat sim gets uncomfortable every time they go to the bathroom.
Really, the only way to clean up those puddles would be to go inside.Baumodus, move the bathtub, go back toLive-Modus, have your Sim wipe up the puddles and go backBaumodusto return the bathtub to its original place.

That's why I prefer Littlemssam's mod, thanks.
Sets the base probability of puddles forming while children are splashing water to 0%. No more pesky, inaccessible, impossible-to-scrub puddles making my Sim uncomfortable, no sir.
6.Let Friends Grow Old by littlemssam
This is another mod I didn't know I needed until I found it.
While not specifically for young children, I think it would bemoreuseful for young children because (1) there aren't many of them, and (2) their limited interactions make young children difficult to socialize with.
With the Littlemssam mod you can basically age up to 20 sims with one cakeat the same time.
As long as all Sims are on the same lot, they can age with this magically modified cake. Just install the mod and click any regular onebirthday cake(as long as you can put candles in it counts) to age the Sims you want.
This mod is incredibly useful for Simmers (read: me) who are messing around with aging.
Instead of abandoning all playmates when your Sim's child reaches toddlerhood, they can all grow up at the same time. This way you don't have to make new friends for your kid Sim.
7.Meeting a new sibling will change Szemoka's relationship
this modelIt's hilarious, not to mention an incredibly accurate portrayal of what it's really like to meet new siblings.
I didn't mind that whatever we gotmeet a new brotherthe interaction was a state of mind.
Until I came across this mod. And then I realized it was a missed opportunity because the concept is pretty accurate. I also have a younger brother and he took me with himyear oldso that we can put aside our illogical arguing with each other.
This mod adds a dash of realism to the game by customizing the brother's relationship with the new baby based on his ingestion. Aunwanted brotherautomatically turns the relationship bar red.
And if you want the bar to turn green, these brothers need to settle their differences immediately. Classic.
8.Children's pools teach children movement skills from Evvi
like someone passing by100 Babies Challenge, theThat hurtsthat we cannot use mods to alleviate our suffering.
Because this mod is a wonderful kind of two-in-one miracle that my current matriarch was able to dofinallyuse.
Basically, what this mod does is allow young children to acquire and develop their skillsmovement skillplay kiddie pools! Because, as the Creator so aptly put it:
"Who has time to let their little ones have their own pure, unskilled fun?"

I agree, since movement plays a role in a paddling pool, not just splashing and romping around would make sense for a toddler to at least improve their fine motor skills. So this mod is a handy and useful download that you should definitely get yourself.

9.breastfeeding infants! by simssims
Another handy and useful download. Because my goal is to make your Sim's life easier.
This PolarBearSims mod replaces the base gamehugInteraction with optionbreastfeedingYour baby like a baby. An iconic hot tub from The Sims, a few seconds of quality parent-child affection, and boom. Your child's hunger bar is completely full.
(Note that this is only possible between the child and parent Sim.)
Much more efficient than putting them in the high chair or having totake a piece. The animations of kids climbing sofas or dropping on the floor to eat are cute, but the actual process just takes timelong timesometimes.
One last note: this mod does not have custom animation.
So if you select thebreastfeedingoption, the parent sim and baby sim will continue to do sohugAnimation. Don't worry, just check out Hunger and Fun for Toddlers.
If it slowly fills up, the mod has been successfully installed.
10The child can be carried by adults, and the child can take care of small children by Sofmc9
This mod can be a bit confusing at first, but trust me; It's worth installing it in your game.
What it does is basically two things:
- Adult Sims can bring children
- Children can take care of toddlers
While both are great, I'm looking for the part of the mod that allows a child sim to take care of young children.
And by caring, I mean they cancarry toddler,put the boy to bed, SheChange the boy's diaper.
Now imagine you are a busy Sim, single parent, with lots of babies, just the right number of kids and few teenagers. Whatwould notDo you bid for an extra pair of hands or three?
While you bathe boy number one, your child changes boy number two's diaper, saving him from the bright red.HygieneBarra.
It's great, it is what it is.
Creator's notes point out some possible animation glitches, but according to feedback the mod is still 100% functional.

11Drink o baby from Los Sims 4
A mod that adds more stuff to kidsgame realism,jDoes it improve gameplay?
Yes, please.
introduction into thebaby-o-baby, an incredibly cool piece of technology from The Sims that doubles as a kid-only bottle warmer and juice/smoothie maker. It literally dispenses drinks to your child in secondsFast Food, but in colored bottles and cups.
This is especially useful when your child is hungry, but your teenage Sim has eaten the last batch of macaroni and cheese.
Just go to Drink-o-Baby, choose your drink of choice and go. An instant bottle or pack of Capri Sun Juice for your child.
It will satisfy your hunger long enough for you to quickly whip up a garden salad or some grilled cheese.
The actual selection of drinks is quite extensive.
The simplest would be mineral water, fruit juice and milk. For more flavorful options, you can offer sippy cups (9 options and 9 designs) or puree packets (6 variations). Possible flavors are strawberry, mango, banana, strawberry, sweet potato and blueberry.

12Die Sims 4 Nutri-Baby
This is the food version of The Sims 4baby-o-babyThe change. And it's just as functional, comfortable and smart as its counterpart.
Just like drink-o-baby,Nutri-Babyintroduces several new instant food options for the hungry kid who wants and wants to eatnow.
To make things even more realistic, the food options are dishes that you would normally serve a child in real life.
Think tanner porridge, mashed potatoes and ham, mashed carrots, peas and pizza. Each individual plate also has a custom mesh. There are no fruitcake recolors or scrambled eggs here.
Most meals come on brightly colored trays with small sections. The others (particularly porridge) are served in children's plastic "porridge bowls".
Just like Drink-o-Baby, all you have to do is click on Nutri-Baby and choose the food you want to serve your baby. In seconds you have a plate of fresh food that easily fills your child's hunger.
Serve him on the floor or in his high chair and they will interact with each other as usual.
For a stressed-out parent, yes, rushing to care for five or six children in a household? Trust me when I say this is a godsend.
13Around the Sims 4 children's playgrounds
In this episode of "Why didn't EA think of that?“We take a look at playgrounds for small children.

As in, you can keep your child in an "open-closed" space, and it really canTutthings in said room so they don't feel claustrophobic.
Where do I start with how cool this is?
You no longer have to worry about them wandering around and interacting with objects (or other Sims) you don't want to interact with. You can keep an eye on them in this beautiful square playpen without having to turn off its autonomy.
And did I mention the kids don't make a mess in the playpen?

Buy the playpen to use itBuild/Buymode and customize it. Have the Parent Sim pick up their baby. If you click on the empty space in the middle of the playpen, you will have the opportunity to do soWrite [Child's Name] below. Click on it and the parent sim puts the kid on the playground.
In order for your child to play in the playground, place all their toys in their ownInventbefore you place them. The toys in the playpen are not clickable.
14Mini chairs and mini tables for small children
This pack contains the smallest chairs and tables you will ever see and I will never get over it.
This mod gives us the perfect kid size chairs and tables for our adorable little ones. They can sit, they can eat, they can enjoy a nice bottlebaby-o-babyLeite.
The point is that they are fully functional.
And they level the playing field (literally). No more climbing on the sofa or fighting with sofa cushions.
The animation is cute, don't get me wrong, but come on. Teeny toddler size charts are snugger.
This stuff pack also includes what the creator callsspray matsjchairlifts. If shared, ideally your child should be able to sit in regular dining chairs to eat at a shared dining table.
The creator provides detailed instructions on how to use thechairliftsjspray mats, so I recommend reading (and re-reading) everything carefully before downloading.

When I say this cute adventure-themed pack has it all and the kitchen sink, I mean that (almost) literally.
A custom content pack complete withA total of 67 piecesfrom functional objects, decorations and everything in between. It's absolutely amazing and I almost couldn't believe it until I installed it.
This Felixandre pack gets its name because many of the items are geared towards babies and toddlers, specifically to decorate their room.
The theme is very Jungle Adventure Meets Animal Safari with all the flavors of green, brown, wood and animals.
There are (non-working) rope swings that your kids can use as seating. There are armchairs and bamboo frame love seats. There are children's beds in earth tones and matching adult beds with separate foam and bed frames that allow for incredible customization.
Yes, you can mix and match the foam and frame as you like. Lots of rehearsals. Many combinations.
Other decorative elements include a tent-like screen, a magnifying glass, a small safari hat, a soft freezer bunny, a small (toy) alligator and a flamingo head that you can attach to the wall. .
You just have to download this stuff pack and try it. Because there are too many amazing pieces to mention.

See: Even with the baby gear pack, we only have a handful of toddler beds to choose from.
And each bed only has what? Six to twelve rehearsals? Many of these patterns are also depressing solid colors.
My point is this: little kids need things with bright colors, vibrant patterns, and an obnoxious amount of cuteness. Any mod you can stick with is an auto win in my opinion.

As someone who finds Freeza Bunny hopelessly adorable, I've never understood why there aren't more toys or merch.
So this mod was something I never knew I wanted until I saw it.
It includes functional (read: squeezable) plushies of Frieza Bunny, Llama (another iconic thing from The Sims), Sly Fox and Kitty.
They come in two sizes. The little ones, your children can play without any problems. The larger versions are a purely cosmetic mess.

So, in addition to the playable Frieza Bunny plushies, I also found a really adorable Frieza Bunny themed pack for kids.
And what a bundle of things he is.

There are a slide or two for kids in the base game, but this dino slide mod is a real functional slide with a custom animation and agood moodIncrease.
Sims using the slide end up shooting and then run to avoid the next person or line up for another shot.
It's really nice to see.
Not only is this slide an absolutely adorable blue slide with big dinosaur eyes at the end and stairs painted to look like scales (or whatever those bumps on dinosaur backs are called), this slide has its own little sign on the side . And it can be used by young children, seniors and everyone in between.
Unlike the children's slides in the base game, this fun dinosaur slide promises fun for the whole family!
21Ayumaean elephant slide
This custom slide may not have its own custom animation, but it's just as cute as thatdinosaur slide. I had to include it.
The design is simple; A round baby elephant with Bambi eyes acts as the overall frame of the slide (with small tusks sticking out on the side). The slide itself is the baby elephant's trunk.
If you think the description sounds cute, wait until you see the in-game slide. Five enchanting colors and lots of slide fun for children. However, please note that you need The Sims 4 Toddler Stuff Pack for the mesh and animation to work!

I will always appreciate a mod that can spice up boring or repetitive elements of the base game.
That's why I'm a big fan of textures and colors. It's great to see the Sims community reinventing and reimagining even the most seemingly mundane objects.
What I'm trying to say here is that this CC baby swing isabsolutes Genie.
It's basically just a toddler high chair in disguise! It doesn't rock back and forth, but it certainly feels like it!
Bonus points for making the game more realistic (because I've seen a lot of real kids rocking gently in baby swings) and for cleverly revamping the high chair into something with a little more personality.
Non-functional/CAS objects
23Fralda's Pampers Cruisers by Kratoscheky
For some reason, TS4 Toddlers and Kids doesn't have a lot of themed stuff. I mean, where are the Frieza Bunny diapers and llamacorn bibs?
This kratoscheky diaper set is modeled after Pamper's Cruisers diapers and fits my need for themed baby things perfectly. They're cute, they're realistic, and they have big-eyed, nose-picking characters.
The creator went even further and edited the children's clothes in the base game TS4 to make it look like the children wear diapers under their clothes.
Depending on the style of clothing, there is extra padding, extra lines or an extra pouf.
You can download these edited and "spoiled" (get it?) garments along with the diapers as a whole .package file, or you can just download the diapers. Either way, it adds something special to your little Sims.

Dressing up isn't just for Halloween anymore!
Not with these adorable superhero jumpsuits (and matching masks) from SimsDollhouse. I don't like playing with the "boys love superheroes, girls love princesses" cliche like you do, but you have to admit, these onesies are cute.
Your child can be Superman, Green Lantern, Captain America,Batman, o Blitz.
(Bonus: You can finally get DC to work with Marvel.)
BTW, only Superman's jumpsuit doesn't have a matching mask. See the other four skins belowcomplexion.

I know that in the Sims 4 game we have a decent number of children's tramps.
But who says no to free clothes? Especially the ones that make your baby look like a little panda.
If it wasn't already obvious, I recommend these.
I know there are some animal themed onesies in TS4, let alone a full bear costume, but at least this mod gives your kid four new animals to try: tiger, panda, giraffe, and zebra.
And they are also available for both genders.

Let it Go may have been hyped a while ago. But Elsa's dress (from Disney'sfrozen) will always look impressive.
And similarly, Anna's dress will always look cute too.
So when I came across this CC (still in a kid's Halloween costume from the other mods) I thought about it for about five seconds.
It's cute, it's accurate, and who am I to stop your kid Sim from dressing like an Arendelle King?
29Let Me Be A Little Boy (Hair For Our Cute Little Boy) by Birksche
This mod pack now includes four beautiful new hairstyles for your cute toddler Sim.
While I have to admit that the Sims 4 Toddlers have a lot more hair options than the Sims 3 (Base Game Vanilla) Toddlers, I wouldn't exactly call the current range "diverse".
"More than a handful" maybe, but the point is, it's not a lot.
CAS options for kids, from hair to clothing to accessories, are shockingly limited. That's why we have great CCs like this one to give our kids a little bit more personality. And if you only like one or two of the four hairstyles, no problem.
All hairstyles have their own separate .package files in the list.
30Simiracle Alphabet Sugar
Are not they cute?
Small pacifiers for children decorated with beautiful letters. There are two versions: blue and pink. Each version contains all 26 letters of the alphabet. It's cute, it's simple and it isexactlythe kind of things I imagine a little kid would have in real life.
Like a hot pink pacifier with an "S" for Sam, or a blue pacifier with a small cursive "A" for Alex.
And that might not be a big deal, but personally I love that the creator doesn't limit the colors to male and female. both boys boysjGirls can easily access the blue and pink versions of this cute pacifier.

The Sims Policy on Mods
We know that for many of you, Mods are an important part of your game experience. For that reason, we support a framework in The Sims 4 that makes it easier for you to install and use Mods. The Sims team doesn't pre-screen, endorse or specifically support any particular Mod.
My personal favourites are Get Together, Seasons, City Living, Island Living, and Cats & Dogs. These packs all include new gameplay features that in my opinion are must-haves for a more immersive Sims 4 experience even if you're playing a save that isn't focused on them.
