Sometimes beautiful music and lyrics are the only things that really capture what you're feeling inside. There is something about listening to songs about love, loss, heartbreak and unrequited love that tugs at your heart and brings out all the emotions that make you feel human and alive despite the pain and aches and pains you are feeling.

Growing up as a young manlesbian in the closet, I would curate endless playlists full of sad and emotional songs (this last one is actually the name of one of my playlists 😅) to play over and over again because of the many unrequited loves I've had. and after minefailed relationships, I would set my "breakup playlist" to repeat. Thankfully, that period of my life didn't last long and things got a lot better when I finally didI have found the love of my life.

But I still love finding and hearing new sad love songs from time to time, so I've rounded up some of my favorites below.
